Somaliland, formerly a British Protectorate, gained independence from the UK on 26 June 1960. It joined former Italian Somalia on 1 July 1960 to form the Somali Republic. On 18 May 1991 it declared independence from Somalia to form the Republic of Somaliland. It has since been developing as a country and despite its lack of recognition by the international community has managed to maintain stability and peace.

The country has an independent government and holds democratic elections giving all citizens the right to vote. Despite having ade huge strides over the past three decades Somaliland has room to develop the rule of law in the country.

We are able to advise government and public bodies on the development and establishment of the Rule of Law in the country.
