Intellectual property rights
(IPRs) are a crucial component of any nation's legal framework. We provide creators and owners of intellectual
property with a legal mechanism to protect their creations, inventions, and
ideas from unauthorized use by third parties. In Somaliland, there are no
specific laws governing IPRs, but the Somaliland Constitution provides for
their protection and enforcement. This article will discuss the current state
of IPRs in Somaliland and the measures that can be taken to protect them.
Therefore, we are advocating
to draft and pass Somaliland intellectual property laws. Currently we help
companies/business to register tradenames and trademarks to responsible governmental
office.
